摘要: Though radiographically-proven calcifications in pituitary adenomas are rare, a higher incidence of microscopically-proven calcified has been recently reported. Therefore, the radiological and microscopical various types consecutive series 169 cases (71 acromegalies, 54 prolactinomas, 24 Cushing's diseases, 2 FSH-producing adenomas, 1 TSH-producing adenoma 17 non-functioning adenomas) were reviewed. Intra or supra-sellar visible on plain skull films sellar tomograms counted only 4 (3 prolactinomas acromegaly). Including these 4, 22 had microscopicallyproven calcifications, majority (20 cases) acromegalies. Histologically, divided into 3 types; that is, 1) intratumoral hematoma, 2) degenerative tissue, 3) scattered psammoma bodies between cells. The last type calcification seemed to be characteristic almost all prolactinomas. first second seen acromegaly, thought result hemorrhagic change adenoma. No significant differences non-calcified detected as regards serum PRL levels, length hyperprolactinemic state, patient's age sex, operative findings.
