摘要: In this work, we investigated the surface processes involved in matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry (MS), which produce intact characteristic ions, typically disulfide form, from self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of alkanethiolates on gold. For study, SAMs decorated with peptides and a THAP matrix were employed. Using two-laser MS, it was previously found that irradiation UV gave rise to direct desorption SAM molecules alkanethiol gold, producing species vacuum. However, closer examination study suggests MALDI process is used may not be case. Instead, results indicate treatment solution responsible for ion formation MS.
