摘要: Abstract The corner mechanism in masonry structures is one of the out-of-plane modes that may frequently occur under dynamic actions such as earthquakes. three dimensional motion, principle complex to treat, can be simplified into a two-dimensional problem, where prismatic equivalent block associated mechanism. This paper provides method treat two rocking analysis, taking account roof – especially thrust acts destabilizing force preliminary phases motion and boundary conditions transverse walls. A case study taken benchmark perform non-linear analyses discuss role geometry, energy dissipation conditions. It shown relevant influence geometry coefficient restitution on stability conditions, whenever oscillation produce horizontal displacement values some cm. results study, subjected Central Italy earthquake, are compared actual response mechanism, which collapsed during this seismic swarm, showing analysis correctly predicts collapse occurred.
