摘要: The National Compact Stellarator Experiment (NCSX) is proposed as a test of low aspect ratio, quasi-axisymmetric plasma configuration that exhibits high beta and good confinement in disruption-free environment. experiment will be built at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) utilize some ancillary equipment. NCSX stellarator core complex assembly four coil systems which provide the magnetic field for shaping position control, inductive current drive, error correction. primary magnets are modular coils, up to 2-T an average major radius 1.4-m. Other include toroidal (TF) poloidal (PF) trim can used control resonant errors. supported by integral shell structure, also serves winding form coils. coils structure have been evaluated thermal stress electromagnetic loads during normal operating conditions. results indicate performance system acceptable.
