摘要: Background Isolated limb infusion (ILI) is a minimally invasive approach for treating in-transit extremity melanoma, with only two US single-center studies reported. Establishing response and toxicity to ILI as compared hyperthermic isolated perfusion important optimizing future regional chemotherapeutic strategies in melanoma. Study Design Patient characteristics procedural variables were collected retrospectively from 162 ILIs performed at 8 institutions (2001 2008) using chi-square Student's t -test. 30 minutes patients Melphalan dose was corrected ideal body weight (IBW) 42% (n = 68) of procedures. Response determined 3 months by Evaluation Criteria Solid Tumors; assessed the Wieberdink Limb Toxicity Scale. Results In 128 evaluable patients, complete rate 31%, partial 33%, there no 36% patients. For all 162), had grade ≥3 one toxicity-related amputation. On multivariate analysis, smaller volumes associated better overall (p 0.021). Use papaverine circuit achieve cutaneous vasodilation Conclusions first multi-institutional analysis ILI, 31% achieved acceptable demonstrating this procedure be reasonable alternative management advanced
