New Techniques for Force and Pressure Measurement in Hypervelocity Impulse Facilities

摘要: A new balance is described for the measurement of aerodynamic forces and moments on models in hypervelocity impulse facilities. Through interpretation stress waves propagating models, measurements are possible free-piston shock tunnels expansion tubes which test times range from about 100 us to 1 ms. New flow T4 tunnel at The University Queensland compared with theoretical predictions demonstrate effectiveness balance. They include drag a 5 semi-angle cone zero incidence, thrust produced by scramjet nozzle lift, pitching moment waverider 15 incidence. Measurements fully integrated, scramjet-powered model vehicle also presented. Extension technique use bar gauges pressure reported.
