摘要: Chemometric techniques and pollution assessment indices were applied to determine the source intensity of in Sirsa River, Himachal Pradesh, India . Results show EC, Cr, Fe, Mn, Ni above permissible limit as per Bureau Indian Standards. The heavy metal index (HPI) contamination (Cd) provided contrasting outcome poor correlation was observed. A evaluation (HEI) method developed using a multiple mean coefficient values provide an alternative classification. criteria HEI adopted for reclassification HPI Cd produced comparable results; 40 % samples labeled low contamination, 50 % medium 10 % high all indices. Principal component analysis along with cluster used identify main factors responsible degradation water quality, namely discharge industrial effluent, river bed mining, agricultural runoff, minor natural or geogenic input. methods chemometric study proposed here can be effective tools gather information about quality resource management.
