摘要: Statement of problem Denture liners are well known for their poor physical properties that favor the accumulation plaque and colonization by Candida species, which can irritate oral tissues lead to denture stomatitis. Purpose A systematic review was conducted determine feasibility a prevention protocol in an effective treatment after fungi has colonized material. Material methods Clinical in vitro investigations assessed and/or biofilm formation were selected according PRISMA statement. Seven electronic databases searched from 1950 April 2012 with keywords "denture liner" OR "reline*" "tissue conditioner" AND "Candida" " stomatitis" "oral candidiasis" "antifungal agents" clean*". Results The incorporation nystatin (in general, 500 000 units) into tissue conditioners prevent onset disease immersion sodium hypochlorite disinfection most often described this review, both able or inhibit colonization, depending on concentrations. 0.5% concentration disinfect liners. Microwave irradiation also been alternative method disinfection. Because lack standardized results (especially regard used perform microbial counts), meta-analysis could not be performed. Conclusions literature suggests use help conditioners. those materials is treat candidiasis. However, as studies in vitro, there insufficient reliable evidence truly provide recommendations regarding ideal cleaning whether addition antifungal agents worthwhile. Well-designed randomized controlled trials needed answers these questions.
