Retention of bacteria by cellulose fibres as a means of reducing biofouling in paper pulp production processes

摘要: The effectiveness of a non‐oxidising biocide (a carbamate‐based solution) as retention agent for cells Pseudomonas fluorescens in paper pulp suspension was studied, way to reduce biofouling and production processes. results indicated that the addition not only changed pH suspension, but also shifted surface charges bacterial from negative neutral or positive values, depending on value concentration. Therefore, since fibres are negatively charged, adhesion is promoted. Hence, it possible obtain an increase cell cellulose 45% 75%, within less than 5 min contact between carbamate suspension. This effect increased with concentration solution fibre (100–300 mgl‐1), always higher absence biocide.
