摘要: Morphological traits and body measurements were recorded in 129 Gowli buffaloes. The average height at withers, length, heart girth 124.9 ± 1.20 124.0 1.73 cm, 136.1 1.51cm 129.3 4.51 189.4 2.11 cm 171.0 7.00 206.9 1.86 177.0 4.65 for adult females above four years breeding bulls, respectively. Chromosome analysis of buffaloes revealed a modal chromosome number 2n = 50. karyotype comprised 5 pairs submetacentric 19 acrocentric autosomes pair sex chromosomes. X was the largest acrocentric. Y identified as smallest mean relative length (%) varied from 1.70 0.09 to 7.90 0.17. approximately equal that 4 autosomes. centromeric index value highest fifth lowest first banding patterns close agreement with G-band features reported earlier river type RAPD performed on 50 animals each South Kanara using 10 random primers by PCR technique.
