摘要: Radiosurgery is the precise application of focused radiation to a targeted volume within brain or spine, in one five sessions, identified on magnetic resonance (MR) computed tomography (CT) imaging using multiple beams deposit large dose defined region while limiting exposure normal tissue [1]–[6]. This new definition radiosurgery, involving treatment sessions for spinal lesions, was recently approved by American Society Therapeutic Radiation Oncology and Association Neurological Surgeons Congress Neurologic Surgeons. Although initially conceptualized Leksell use functional neurosurgery, radiosurgery has progressively widened its scope now also an option numerous neoplastic vascular indications [7], [8]. Differing from standard fractionated radiotherapy (6 30 sessions), requires delivery smaller volumes without affecting portions parenchyma, thus allowing powerful radiobiologic effect [2], [9]–[11].
