摘要: The co-cultivation of the alphaproteobacterium Dinoroseobacter shibae with dinoflagellate Prorocentrum minimum is characterized by a mutualistic phase followed pathogenic in which bacterium kills aging algae. Thus it resembles “Jekyll-and-Hyde” interaction that has been proposed for other algae and Roseobacter. Here we identified key genetic components this interaction. Analysis transcriptome D. co-culture P. revealed growth dependent changes expression quorum sensing (QS), CtrA phosphorelay, flagella biosynthesis genes. Deletion histidine kinase gene cckA part phosphorelay or genes fliC flgK resulted complete lack stimulation mutants. By contrast, pathogenicity was entirely on one extrachromosomal elements shibae, 191 kb plasmid. data show are required establishing mutualism prove cell density killing effect mediated an unknown factor encoded
