Improved photocatalytic activity of Bi2O3 composites derived from a layered precursor

摘要: ZnO/Al2O3/Bi2O3 mixed-metal oxide (ZnAlBi-MMO) has been successfully prepared by the coprecipitation method and controllable calcination. Powder X-ray diffraction, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectra confirmed structure of as-synthesized solids. The results reveal that synthetic methods can provide heterostructure MMO. photocatalytic activity ZnAlBi-MMO was evaluated photodegradation methylene blue (MB) under visible light irradiation. Factors may affect behavior were studied such as calcination temperature, catalyst dose pH. Furthermore, stability synthesized photocatalysts investigated studying ability reclaimed ZnAlBi-MMO. showed removal efficiency MB higher than 83 % even after four successive photoreactions, demonstrating great potential layered double hydroxides supports. possible mechanism underlying enhanced Bi2O3 also discussed.
