Laser performance of diode-pumped Yb:CaF 2 optical ceramics synthesized using an energy-efficient process

摘要: Due to their natural toughness, and also flexible cheap production process, laser ceramics could provide an interesting alternative single crystals for meeting the challenges posed by demanding domain of ultrafast high-power operations. We investigated performance a Yb:CaF2 ceramic developed with simple green synthesis process. A 4 at. %-doped sample was diode-pumped deliver output power 1.6 W optical-to-optical efficiency reaching 25%, slope 43%, gain 1.4, wavelength tunability from 1015 1060 nm. Results are comparable typical crystal performance, thereby enabling applications these greener low-cost in lasers.
