摘要: The changes in excitatory amino acid receptor ligand binding induced by transient cerebral ischemia were studied the rat hippocampal subfields. Ten minutes of was common carotid artery occlusion combined with hypotension, and animals allowed variable periods recovery ranging from 1 day to 4 weeks. 3H-AMPA (alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid) quisqualate receptors, 3H-kainic (KA) kainate 3H-glutamate N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors as determined quantitative autoradiography. One week following CA1 region hippocampus displayed a severe (90%) dendrosomatic lesion preservation presynaptic terminals. This associated 60% decrease AMPA 25% glutamate NMDA receptors. At weeks postischemia, both sites greatly reduced. Although dentate gyrus granule cells are resistant an ischemic insult this magnitude, showed marked binding. ischemia, decreased approximately 40 20%, respectively. Following 2 recovery, not significantly different control level, while remained depressed up postischemia. high density KA inner molecular layer unaffected insult, despite extensive degeneration hilus which projects glutamatergic afferents area.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
