Practical and Industrial Applications of Agent-Based Systems

摘要: DAI techniques have been applied to a wide range of entities laying claim the title “agent.” There are almost as many definitions “agent” there researchers. For some, software module is an agent only if it can travel over network. others, agenthood means that takes action on behalf human user. Still other researchers insist certain minimal level intelligence, or use specified inter-agent language, ability manipulate explicit models beliefs, desires, and intentions. The lowest common denominator all “agent,” definition used in this chapter, “proactive object.” That is, entity has data code encapsulation object, its own thread control (making active object), execute autonomously without being invoked externally (thus proactive rather than reactive).
