摘要: The Nicobar long-tailed macaque ( Macaca fascicularis umbrosus ) is confined to the southern and central archipelago. We have collected demographic birth data for five groups of M. f. understand their group structure, demography breeding seasonality. Group size, individuals in age–sex classes ratio did not vary between years. rate was neither associated with number adult females nor size. births a month positively correlated rainfall, about 71% occurred during rainy season, though, systematically among months. Perhaps, higher availability food resources wet season than rest year may support lactation provide weaned infants. similarity some traits other subspecies indicates that these be conserved over evolutionary time, while traits, differences reflect effect local conditions recent histories. This first report on seasonality this unique macaque.
