摘要: This chapter gives an overview on basic subjects that justify the existence of this book, most important being contextualization offshore processing CO2-rich natural gas (NG), besides CO2 separation and destination. A discussion bibliographic review alternatives for removal from NG are included. Some basins worldwide have potential to produce oil with associated gas, yet under high gas–oil ratios %CO2 (≥40 mol%) which entails onus low-grade enchained huge dispatch goals. Here, industry meets great challenges, since production, main revenue factor, is bounded production 10–80 mol% CO2. Therefore, solutions needed turn high-capacity rigs into feasible safe operations, sometimes hundreds kilometers offshore. The supersonic separator (SS) a promising technology fits context due its capability simultaneous adjustment dew-points in single compact low-footprint operation. Regarding removal, indicated membrane permeation, suitable abatement services, also modular. On other hand, literature already signalizes SS application capture NG.
