摘要: Postictal syndrome (PIS) encompasses the clinical, biological, electroencephalographic (EEG) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) signs that follow termination of a seizure. These occur as soon epileptic discharge ends, but might remain for substantially long period time, making them amenable to clinical observation. As direct consequence, neurologists intensivists are more frequently attending patients with PIS than during their Moreover, careful documentation may help physicians diagnose seizure from other non-epileptic disorders. Careful analysis could also be helpful better characterize (seizure subtypes, some extent, localization and/or lateralization seizure). This article aims review main EEG MRI components PIS, discuss differential diagnoses propose general attitude, based on acronym "WAITTT": W "Watch", monitor investigate in order provide relevant information seizure, AIT "Avoid Inappropriate Treatment", underscore risk carrying out unnecessary drug injections intensive care procedures setting self-limited symptomatology, TT "Take Time", keep mind time remains clinician's best ally treating PIS.
