摘要: Developing countries are enthusiastically on the road to economic progress and openness, which is proved be a silver bullet for them. However, it has put their environmental quality at stake. This study examines whether openness electricity consumption matter for deterioration by controlling influence of progress. For this, we have used time series frequency data Pakistan from 1971 2016 employed state-of-the-art dynamic autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) simulation model. The model advantage over traditional ARDL in determining positive negative variations induced consumption, main findings as follows: Firstly, both long short run positively significantly influenced CO2 emissions, while long-run exceeded that run. Secondly, validated an Kuznets curve hypothesis thus limited degradation. Thirdly, showed insignificant emissions Based research findings, suggested not direct culprits deteriorate developing country’s condition like Pakistan; rather, remained key role player. Therefore, transition fossil-based renewable energy would provide sustainable pathway towards achieving future.
