摘要: A good understanding of the fundamental processes occurring in positive column low-pressure mercury-noble-gas discharges is practical interest because these are used fluorescent lamps (Elenbaas, 1959; Waymouth, 1971). In light production mainly due to mercury UV resonance radiation originating from 6 3P1 and 1P1 levels at 254 185 nm, respectively (Fig. 1). This converted into visible by a coating powder on inside discharge tube. Once photon has been produced volume it absorbed re-emitted many times before escapes discharge. Due this process, called trapping or imprisonment, effective radiative lifetime level can be considerably longer than natural lifetime. The lifetime, greater possibility that energy will released via non-radiative process. Thus, detailed knowledge as function parameters may help development more efficient lamps.
