摘要: Numerical simulations of the fluid flow around a small rotating vertical axis wind turbine are performed using time accurate Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes (RANS) solver. A moving mesh technique is applied for simulation turbine. The RANS equations then formulated in ALE. All computations assuming 2D incompressible fully turbulent flow. Turbulence modelled by SST k/ω model Menter. Blade forces and torque obtained from solution integrating pressure shear stress over blade surface. expected output determined at given rotational speeds. resulting power coefficients compared to that applying multiple stream tube theory.
