摘要: Refractive index, density and infrared absorption studies of naturally experimentally shocked-produced glasses formed from quartz, plagioclase, alkali-feldspar confirm the existence two main groups amorphous forms framework silicates: solid-state liquid-state glasses. These were apparently as metastable release products high-pressure-phases above below glass transition temperatures. Solid-state exhibit a series structural states with increasing disorder caused by shock pressures They gradually merge into state fused minerals similar to that synthetic quenched melt. Shock-fused alkali feldspars can, however, be distinguished their laboratory-fused counterparts higher density. It is concluded recovery experiments on single crystals are between about 300 450 kb (feldspars) 350 500 (quartz), whereas exceeding some 430 (quartz) necessary produce
