Effects of Marine Toxin Domoic Acid on Innate Immune Responses in Bay Scallop Argopecten irradians

摘要: Domoic acid (DA) is an amnesic shellfish poisoning toxin produced by some species of the genera Pseudo-nitzschia and Nitzschia. This has harmful effects on various species, especially scallops. study aimed to investigate DA exposure immune physical responses bay scallop, Argopecten irradians. Various immunological parameters were assessed (acid phosphatase (ACP), alkaline (ALP), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), lipid peroxide (LPO), nitric oxide (NO), total protein content) in haemolymph scallops at 3, 6, 12, 24, 48 h post-exposure different concentrations (10, 50, 100 ng/mL). Moreover, expression immune-related genes (CLT-6, FREP, HSP90, MT, PGRP, PrxV) was assessed. The activities ACP, ALP, LDH content LPO increased upon concentrations, while NO levels decreased.
