摘要: Environmental sustainability and energy management are increasingly critical issues in people's lives their livelihood. New rapidly evolving tracking technologies major tools for addressing these challenges because they provide visibility to the otherwise hidden processes of everyday infrastructures such as those involving waste removal. By revealing patterns, can help influence personal behavior with respect environmental consciousness. Pervasive monitoring analysis also improve by inefficiencies waste-removal chain municipalities service providers, well compliance regulations. We present a system trash that demonstrates how pervasive better reveal, understand, waste-management system. Custom-developed Massachusetts Institute Technology (MIT) "trash tags" use Global System Mobile communication technology both coarse localization active return communications. discuss methods calculating visualizing movement preliminary results from Trash Track project, including information about tag performance discussion some acquired traces. With MIT SENSEable City Laboratory is exploring new sensor be used transform understand cities.
