摘要: Hypertrophic burn scars are notoriously difficult to treat because of their extensive tissue involvement and tendency worsen with hypertrophy contracture formation. Various therapies have been advocated in the past, including surgical excision grafting, dermabrasion, corticosteroids, distinct cosmetic limitations. The 585-nm pulsed dye laser has shown previously be effective treatment a variety traumatic improvement scar texture, color, pliability minimal side effects. Sixteen patients 40 hypertrophic resulting from chemical peels, carbon dioxide procedures, accidental thermal injury were treated laser. Sequential photographic clinical assessments recorded all patients. Histologic evaluations skin punch biopsies before after irradiation performed when possible. Symptomatic was reported one treatment. Decreased erythema improved texture observed an average 2.5 treatments. No correlation found between duration, location, or etiology response Normal number dermal fibroblasts decreased sclerosis on histologic examination laser-irradiated scars. can effectively improve decrease associated symptoms yielding cosmetically functionally acceptable results.
