摘要: The three established techniques that are currently employed for the prediction of solidification bifurcations and shape cast microstructures reviewed. main limitations these discussed with examples. A more recent model called maximum entropy production rate (MEPR) postulate is also reviewed as to its ability predict patterns, especially those form during positive temperature gradient solidification. principle MEPR states if there sufficient degrees freedom within a system, it will adopt stable state at which generation maximized in an open thermodynamic system.
