摘要: Objectives: To examine the association between heart rate and mortality risk in elderly. Design: Longitudinal cohort. Setting: Outpatient. Participants: Four hundred twenty-two people, aged 70 upon entry, were surveyed followed for 6 years. Measurements: Pulse was measured manually, while sitting standing, from electrocardiogram recordings. The population divided into quartiles of rate, with top quartile comprising those greater than 77 beats per minute (bpm) bottom less 60 bpm. Results: After controlling possible confounders, there a clear correlation (r) all-cause elderly women (r=0.25, P=.0003). observed using three different methods measuring rate. Heart associated cardiovascular mortality. There no relationship level exercise or smoking status. In multiple regression analysis, increased death independent previous cerebrovascular disease, hypertension, anemia, congestive failure, smoking, activities daily living (relative odds ratio (ROR)=3.37, 95% confidence interval (CI)=0.96–11.8). When beta-blockers excluded, this became even stronger (ROR=8.5, CI=1.19–60.1). Conclusion: Elevated is related to women, thus representing simple index general health status population. did not predict men.
