摘要: Objective: The Advisory Council of the American Red Cross Disaster Services requested that an independent studydeterminewhetherfirst-aidproviderswithoutprofessionalmentalhealthtraining,whenconfrontedwith people who have experienced a traumatic event, offer “safe, effective and feasible intervention.” Methods: Standard databases were searched by expert panel from 1990 to September 2010 using keyword phrase “psychological first aid.” Documents included if process was referred as care provided victims, responders, or volunteers excluded it not associated with disaster mass casualty used after individual nondisaster traumas such rape murder. This search yielded 58 citations. Results: It determined adequate scientific evidence for psychological aid is lacking but widely supported opinion rational conjecture. No controlled studies found. There insufficient supporting treatment standard guideline. Conclusion: Sufficient available objective observations best fits category “evidence informed” without proof effectiveness. An intervention professional mental health training event offers acceptable option. Further outcome research recommended. (Disaster Med Public Health Preparedness. 2012;6:247-252)
