摘要: Five earth fills for preloading were constructed on an alluvial marine clay with factor of safety about 1.0. One fill failed and two must have been near to failure. First, undrained strength characteristics the at proposed site are described discussed as well procedure determining practical use. Settlement observed in field each then reported. Stability analysis actually shown, which anisotropy effect strain rate considered. The results showed excellent agreement behaviour strongly demonstrated that should be evaluated from consolidated tests specimens undisturbed samples reconsolidated same stresses they carried field.
