Cosmic gamma-ray bursts

摘要: A summary is given of research on transient (duration roughly-equal 10/sup -1/--10/sup 2/ sec) bursts cosmic ..gamma.. rays monitored with spacecraft carrying special-purpose detectors. Very likely the burst sources are old (>10/sup 6/ yr) magnetized neutron stars located fairly close to solar system (Droughly-equal10--100 pc). most interesting physical problem thereby awaits investigation: nonstable behavior ultradense matter in strong magnetic fields (Broughly-equal10/sup 12/--10/sup 13/ gauss). Several processes that might generate observed discussed.
