摘要: A process for applying an adherent electrically insulative moisture-resistant composite coating to a substrate (1). thin, adherent, highly cross-linked, substantially liquid moisture-impervious primer (3) is provided on the (1) by glow discharge polymerization of low molecular weight hydrocarbon monomer in pressure chamber containing (1), being selected from among methane, ethane, propane, ethylene, and propylene. second polymeric layer (5) over precursor comprising hydorcarbon or substituted hydrocarbon. The exhibits hydrogen yield not greater than about 0.75 atoms per molecule under conditions which deposited, whereby resilient strongly bonded comprises high concentration surface bulk free radicals.
