Highly stable heterostructured Ag–AgBr/TiO2 composite: a bifunctional visible-light active photocatalyst for destruction of ibuprofen and bacteria

摘要: A bifunctional visible-light photocatalyst Ag–AgBr/TiO2 was synthesized by a facile one-pot method. The three-component composite exhibited much superior photocatalytic activities for ibuprofen (IBP) degradation and mineralization as compared to single-component (TiO2) two-component (Ag/TiO2, Ag–AgBr) systems, well the conventional Ag–AgBr/P25. After 6 h of white LED irradiation, 81% organic carbon could be mineralized along with decreased aromaticity toxicity IBP products. Meanwhile, stronger antibacterial than TiO2 Ag–AgBr/P25 under irradiation. More interestingly, had novel against E. coli in dark other Ag–AgBr/semiconductor photocatalysts that have been reported. For first time, action spectrum investigated using different colors elucidate roles Ag nanoparticles AgBr its activity. It reveals both were photoactive species contributing high performance. Among various oxidative (h+, ˙OH, O2˙− 1O2), predominant involved upon mechanism factor photostability water are proposed.
