摘要: Skype, one of the popular VoIP applications, has its own redundancy mechanism to mitigate impact packet loss at expense additional bandwidth usage. However, benefit voice quality improvement through is reduced greatly in case consecutive Skype packets. When running over wireless networks, high likelihood having a noisy environment could lead an interesting scenario: using more for lower quality. In this thesis, we study HARQ retransmission WiMAX Skype. Two key parameters (i.e. Maximum numbers and delay sending ACK) their interplay with are investigated research. While may reduce usage it introduces during retransmission. The overhead different overall also discussed thesis. Numerical analysis simulation WIMAX presented. Results show that can bursty noise improve skype up 22%. consumption be by 76% when engaged. Combining our studies on usage, attempt obtain optimal highest ratio WiMAX.
