摘要: Numerical simulation of water hammer effect in a pipe with varying cross-section is presented for an initial laminar flow by solving Navier–Stokes equations time, using Ansys Fluent software. Results pressure variation time are compared to available literature validate the numerical method. The signal at various locations and existing studies qualitatively. Pressure velocity profiles shown times during wave along length domain, which indicates fluctuation these variables as passes through changing geometry. Attenuation amplitude was found be slower current geometry experimental results from due more gradual change cross-sectional area. generated valve closure its interaction discussed detail comparisons made literature.
