Deaths Involving MDMA and the Concomitant Use of Pharmaceutical Drugs

摘要: The increasing use of 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA, "ecstasy") and tendency users to combine MDMA with pharmaceutical agents (especially serotonergic medication) warrants a thorough understanding MDMA's toxicity profile potential for drug interactions. This study examined the involvement concurrently administered drugs in cases reported Victorian State Coroner. National Coroners Information System was used conduct comprehensive search examination all closed between 2002 2008 where detected. Pathology, toxicology, Coroners' findings were considered cases. In all, 106 fatalities identified, which 43 (41%) involved concomitant other drugs, including pharmaceuticals that likely result an adverse reaction or varying risks (4 high-risk moclobemide MDMA, addition 10 moderate-risk cases, 5 minor-risk cases).
