摘要: Abstract The vertical-axis helical-bladed hydrokinetic turbine serves as a viable source of renewable power that can extract kinetic energy the free flowing water to generate electricity. Such turbines are characterized by lesser pulsation torque and marginally favorable starting capability compared straight-bladed turbines. present study aims at evaluating performance NACA 0020 bladed helical different solidity ratios. In-situ experiments developed have been carried out in an open channel where with ratio (σ) 0.38 achieves maximum coefficient 0.20 at tip-speed (TSR) 1.02 inlet velocity 0.87 m/s. effect σ on is investigated various immersion levels. For all tested turbines, it has observed decrease levels, values along optimum TSRs this change found be predominant for having lowest σ = 0.31. Higher ability noticed σ = 0.38 comparison lower variants.
