摘要: Various aspects of physician bias in the decision to perform a cesarean section were investigated by comparing indications for sections 1979 and 1980 investigating distribution according day week. The contention that obstetricians may on weekends secondary gain was refuted showing no difference nonelective between weekdays weekends. Statistically significant changes were, however, observed two years, which be attributed an organizational change within department toward more sophisticated obstetric care. These included increase dystocia breech presentation decrease fetal distress "other" indications. Because total rate did not during study periods, it is suggested modern practice per se does rates, but shift section. ( JAMA 1982;248:1082-1084)
