摘要: Publisher Summary Superior colliculus (SC) is undoubtedly concerned with gaze orientation. Quite demonstrative experiments in the monkey have given a strong support to “foveation hypothesis”. According this model, when stimulus suddenly appears within animal's visual field or particular detail of environment chosen by animal as target, restricted zone sensory upper collicular layers activated. Electrical stimulation SC alert cats their head free reveals double organization: (1) The anterior part structure, which receives retinotopic input corresponding central 20°–30°of field, essentially involved generation fixation eye saccades. data are quite comparable those obtained monkey. (2) posterior peripheral retina, is, on other hand, primarily implicated control movements. This has not been shown These results show that, cat, constitutes major piece mechanism reflex.
