摘要: This paper considers resource allocation and pricing for the downlink of a wireless network. We describe model that applies to either time-slotted system (e.g. Qualcomm's HDR proposal) or CDMA system; main feature this is channel quality varies across users. study using scheme radio resources. show maximize revenue in such system, base station should allocate resources discriminatory manner, where different users are charged prices based part on their quality. However, optimally allocating way shown require knowledge about each user's utility function. consider suboptimal which does not users' functions, asymptotically optimal, limit large demand. Moreover, social welfare. also heuristic case small demand, perfect functions. provide numerical results illustrate performance heuristic.
