A review of external cavity-coupled quantum dot lasers

摘要: Since the external cavity quantum dot laser was first demonstrated, performances have been improved in terms of operation temperature, output power, pulse generator and tuneability based on naturally size fluctuation dot. Nowadays, sources successfully used different absorption spectroscope techniques, industry, biomedical research. In this paper we reviewed recent developments lasers operated a grating-coupled system where single frequency wide tunable wavelength range were easily obtained by adjusting grating angle. all cases, mainly stressed significant progresses understanding basic optical electronic properties to enable importance steps forward. The prospects for further progress directed towards stability, mode-hoping-free tuning range, miniaturization integration also reviewed.
