摘要: In this research, we synthesized superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) based on poly(acrylic acid) with super adsorption properties through a novel one-step cost-effective method. The SAPs’ for removal of heavy metal ions [e.g., Cu(II)] from aqueous solutions was systematically studied. effects pH (2.0–5.0), sodium hydroxide and water composition, contact time (0–48 h), initial Cu(II) ion concentrations (1–500 mg dm−3) the were studied using atomic absorption spectroscopy. behavior fitted to Langmuir isotherm shown follow pseudo-second-order reaction model. maximum capacities be 243.91 g−1 polyacrylate (PAANa), which is among highest reported in literature. superior capacity attributed chelating ability functional groups (e.g., –COO−) PAANa matrix. recyclability material showed that over 98.92 % adsorbed copper could recovered mild concentration (0.01 M) nitric acid. Results three consecutive adsorption–desorption cycles composites had high desorption efficiency, implying samples can recycled reused as an effective adsorbent recovery.
