摘要: This chapter begins with a summary of general expressions derived from linear, non-equilibrium thermodynamic theory for one-dimensional transport across membranes. These provide framework many the analyses presented throughout book, example, those solution-diffusion type. Transport in homogeneous membranes is discussed briefly as limiting case pure diffusion. The remainder reviews hydrodynamic approach to modeling combined diffusive and convective porous model uniform diameter, cylindrical pores examined enough detail indicate origin predictions global coefficients limit very dilute solutions neutral spherical solutes. Extension less solutions, non-spherical, flexible charged solutes summarized.
