摘要: Axillary lymph node dissection (ALND), once considered standard of care for all patients with invasive breast cancer, is now obsolete in histologically negative sentinel nodes (SLNs). Alternatives to ALND positive SLNs are available after the ACOSOG Z0011 and AMAROS trials demonstrated no difference locoregional recurrence, disease-free survival, or overall survival between SLN biopsy alone (ACOSOG Z0011) axillary radiotherapy (AMAROS) women clinical T1-2 cancer 1–2 treated multimodality therapy, offering opportunity reduce morbidity treatment. In contrast, MA.20 EORTC 22922-10925 studies suggest that similar patient populations benefit from comprehensive nodal irradiation. Here, we will discuss contemporary surgical management clinically node-negative metastases SLNs.
