摘要: Amba Estuary, which receives effluent from several industries including a petrochemical complex, opens to the southern limits of Mumbai Harbor. The study was conducted find out level Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPHs) in water and their bioconcentration ten commercially important fishes Estuary during different months. In high concentration TPHs (39.7 μg/L) obtained December (middle estuary) minimum value (7.2 μg/L) observed September (lower estuarine). maximum found be Trichiurus savala (3.2 µg/g) Boleophthalmus sp (0.4 µg/g) May. Irrespective monthly variations, accumulation all species considerably lower than hazardous levels. Although there no statistical significance between total length/weight, T. recording months it can used as indicator hydrocarbon pollution this region.
