摘要: Putrescine (1,4-diaminobutane) is the simplest of mammalian polyamines. These are small, positively charged molecules which essential for cell growth and thought to play a role in regulation anabolic events such as synthesis DNA, RNA, protein. Recent reports have indicated potential dietary precursor amino acids putrescine alter tissue concentrations. The current study was conducted determine physiologic significance these effects by feeding up flooding doses any influence on whole body polyamine metabolism. A total 96 chicks were fed purified crystalline acid diets containing 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, or 1.0% (four birds per pen, four pens diet) 14 days. 0.2% increased rate beyond that controls while further supplements reduced toxic when 0.8 fed. Hepatic muscle concentrations ornithine with effect kidney much less. liver, kidney, rose 0.4% more This particularly obvious there also increases spermidine spermine. In subsequent similar experiment, at 0.1, 0.3, 0.5% activities key enzymes regulating synthesis. even 0.1% caused rapid reduction hepatic decarboxylase activity S-adenosylmethionine arginase not influenced diet. It concluded excess can be organisms but orally administered this metabolite promote growth.
