摘要: The aim of this study is to report current clinical practice for sleep induction in Italian epilepsy centers. We administered an online-structured survey between March and November 2017 collected data from pediatric adult neurophysiologists belonging 73 preferred time EEG recording variable, depending on daily schedule each laboratory. To facilitate spontaneous during nap EEGs, almost all centers require deprivation before the examination, with partial loss total most (58/73 vs 12/73, p < 0.001). Other non-pharmacological procedures include breast/bottle feeding or listening music (encouraged centers). Pharmacological performed 40% laboratories, more commonly children than adults (27/60 7/42, p = 0.003). Melatonin frequently prescribed drug (one third participating Our highlights great heterogeneity among recordings. Expert consensus procedure warranted.
