摘要: Abstract This paper focuses on the stress concentration factors (SCFs) and fatigue behavior of bird-beak square hollow section overlap K-joints under brace in-plane force. Four K-joint specimens were statically tested to determine SCFs predict critical cracking locations. Subsequently, high-cycle tests performed investigate including crack initiation propagation, life rigidity degradation. The results demonstrate that always initiated at locations with greatest SCFs, specifically, region crown area for diamond joints, respectively. experimental lives compared predictions by International Institute Welding (IIW) Srhs-N design curves. comparison shows IIW curve conventional joints can conservatively estimate K-joints.
