摘要: The n − 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic (DHA) have important nutritional benefits in humans. Farmed fish could serve as promising sources of EPA/DHA, but they need these acids or their precursors diets. Here we transferred masu salmon Δ6-desaturase-like gene zebrafish to increase its ability for synthesizing EPA DHA. Expression this transgenic elevated content by 1.4-fold DHA 2.1-fold. On the other hand, α-linolenic (ALA) decreased, it being a substrate Δ6-desaturase, while total lipid remained constant. This achievement demonstrates that metabolic pathway can be modified technique, perhaps applied tailor farmed even better valuable human food.
