摘要: Aim The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential electrochemically activated (ECA) anolyte and catholyte solutions clean root canals during conventional canal preparation. Methodology Twenty extracted single-rooted human mature permanent teeth were allocated randomly into four groups five teeth. The pulp chambers accessed prepared by hand with stainless steel endodontic instruments using a double-flared technique. One or other following irrigants used preparation: distilled water, 3% NaOCl, neutral cathodic (ANC) (300 mg L−1 active chlorine), combination chlorine) catholyte. split longitudinally walls examined for debris smear layer scanning electron microscopy. SEM photomicrographs taken separately in coronal, middle apical parts at magnification ×800 debridement extra-cellular matrix ×2500 presence layer. Results Irrigation water did not remove part left continuous firm overlying compressed low-mineralized predentine. All chemically demonstrated improved cleaning compared water. quality loose elimination similar NaOCl ANC solution. resulted cleaning, particularly third canals. evaluation that none effective its total removal; however, affected surface thickness. Compared ECA thinner smoother more even surface. enhanced opening tubules predominantly coronal thirds canals, whereas numerous open dentine throughout whole length canals. Conclusions Irrigation cleaned may be an alternative treatment. Further investigation irrigation is warranted.
